Matthijs Baan, Founder of Spring Associates, has been a strategy consultant and an entrepreneur during his entire career. At Spring Associates, Matthijs works as strategy advisor in Energy, Clean tech, Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Publishing. Besides delivering strategy advice, Matthijs has been instrumental in establishing companies that build on the latest innovations in these areas. Matthijs holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Amsterdam and an MBA from INSEAD.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
In addition, Matthijs is a Managing Director at MJ Hudson Spring where he manages the Responsible Investment practice. Furthermore, Matthijs holds a number of advisory or board positions related to entrepreneurship or the community; e.g. he is supervisory board member of sustainable aviation fuels company SkyNRG and of energy efficiency company Sensorfact. He also sits on the review board of the European Institute of Technology’s Climate KIC, and on the board of the INSEAD Alumni Association in the Netherlands.
